Little Movies, Inc. is launched!

(BOSTON) A group of Boston-area entrepreneurs have formed Little Movies Inc., according to Ed Carfano, President and Co-Founder of Little Movies, Inc. The mission of Little Movies, Inc. is to create dramatic short films that emphasize public needs while enhancing the image of participating companies.

Joining Mr. Carfano, an Adjunct Professor at the Boston University School of Public Health, are Executive Vice President and Co-Founder, Kerry Gallivan, Director of Technology at Join Together, a project of the BU School of Health; Senior Advisors Evan Longin, Ed.D., a director at the Salem Center for Psychotherapy, Training and Research; Steve Nisenbaum, Ph.D. J.D., President-Elect of the Public Service Division of the American Psychological Association and holder of a Medical staff appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School; and Richard S. Gonick, J.D., former president of the Salem and Ipswich Bar Associations.

Little Movies “combines talent from the movie making, public health, psychology and technology fields to create a truly unique offering to companies who want to help change the quality of life in the community through film”, said Mr. Carfano.

Current clients include Eddie Bauer, Rape Crisis Services of Greater Lowell and the Gloucester Police Department.

Little Movies first began operations in 1960 specializing in one real (10 minute) theatrical film productions. In 1961, Little Movies won an Academy Award in live action theatrical short for “Day of the Painter”. The company was disbanded in 1963 and Mr. Carfano formed a new production company, Ed Carr productions Ltd. that produced over 300 public service announcements. The longest running (18-years) amongst them was the award winning “Like Father-Like Son” ad for the American Heart Association.
